Effects of Different Nose Cone Designs on Trajectory and Impact Angle of Smart Fire Extinguishing Ammunition

A nose cone is the conically shaped tip part of a missile, bomb or aircraft, used to regulate behavior oncoming airflow and minimize drag. In this study, effects different designs on trajectory impact angle smart fire extinguishing ammunition were investigated. For purpose, three types with profiles designed: spherically blunted conic cone, tangent ogive truncated cone. virtual wind tunnel was created in computer environment CFD software calculate drag coefficients for each design. By applying Newton's second law motion, horizontal distance received before striking fire, speed, calculated. The obtained results compared using One-Way ANOVA (analysis variance) order determine whether there statistical evidence that associated population means are significantly different. It determined examined did not have significant effect at investigated speeds altitudes.
